Arrival and Check In Times – Check in will start at 8:00am, with breakfast beginning to be served at 8:15.  Mayor Adler and Fire Chief Kerr will be saying some opening remarks at 8:50, with the speakers starting at 9:00am.

Conference Location – In order to accommodate more girls the conference will be held at The Capital Factory in downtown Austin.  The address is 701 Brazos St (16th Floor), Austin TX 78701. You can also click here for more information on The Capital Factory.

Parking – Guests will receive a voucher upon arrival with parking ticket from lot. Both the ticket and voucher are to be presented when departing the parking structure. A flat fee of $5 will be charged.  You can also click here for more information on parking.

Food Information – Thanks to our amazing sponsors food will be provided.  There will be a light breakfast consisting of Torchy’s Tacos, fruit and drinks.  Lunch will be provided as well, from Rudy’s and Mad Greens.  There will also be an afternoon snack as well in the afternoon.

Seating – In order to accommodate as many girls as possible, we are asking that all girls sit together.  If parents are attending, there will be seating towards the back of the room, as well as various other rooms on the floor.  The room will be set up theater style with chairs in rows.

What To Expect – Girls For Progress was created for girls ages 11-15 with 3 goals in mind.

  • Help girls be more aware of their social surroundings.
  • Inspire them to do great things within their community.
  • Create a network of girls that support each other while we are doing great things.

With this being said Girls For Progress is very excited about the speaker line up that we have coming to Austin.  Two speakers will each give a 12-15 minute talk. They will then be available to field questions from the girls in attendance. The speakers for Austin are amazing, so be able to ask questions is an important feature of Girls For Progress. There will also be different activities that take place during the day where girls will have need to interact with each other, as well a fun Yoga Session led by one of our speakers.

What To Wear – First and foremost wear a SMILE. Next, dress comfortable for the day.  There are activities such as Yoga scheduled as well as other activities that you may need to move and be comfortable when moving around.  This is a full day event, and we want you to be comfortable.

What Is The Social Hour – We are very excited for this conference to have a social hour.  This will be time at the end of the day to relax and socialize with new friends.

What Will Be At The Social Hour – There will be live entertainment, a photo booth, 3D printer, Kendra Scott pop up, as well as other items.  There will be costs associated with some items at the social hour.

Can Additional Shirts Be Purchased – Each girl that is registered and in attendance will receive a Conference T-Shirt. We are very excited about the shirt and can’t wait for the girls to get them.  There will also be some additional shirts on hand if any parents want to purchase or if someone wants to purchase any extra.
